Nahanni construction has been recognized by the Slag Cement Association for their innovative work on the Giant Mine Underground Stabilization Project. This is the first time a Canadian company has won the award and it was issued because of the unique use of slag cement which was pumped through bore holes into the legacy mine works at Giant Mine to fill and stabilize underground chambers in support of ongoing remediation work at the Giant Mine Site.
