Working for a local developer, Nahanni Construction installed a building for a franchise company that does quick lube work on vehicles. Ninety percent of the building was supplied by the franchise and the remainder was purchased by Nahanni.
The northern landscape is unpredictable. You never know what you might encounter when you break ground on a new project. In this case, we discovered a jagged rock formation about one metre under the site’s surface. There was also limited space on site to store materials and equipment, and with approximately ninety percent of the building being supplied by the franchise, Nahanni Construction had no control over the delivery of materials and supplies.
How We Helped
Rather than drilling and blasting, we worked with the client to alter the building’s foundation, saving the client money and eliminating disruptions in an area already occupied by several other businesses. We also made the most efficient use of the limited space on site by coordinating deliveries so that equipment and supplies only arrived on site when the crew was ready for them.
